The AusIMM
Health and Safety Society
(formerly the Health and Safety Committee) was established in early 2016. The
Society supports all professionals engaged in health and safety practice and serves to lift
the profile of health and safety within the AusIMM and the minerals
industry. The Society developed the AusIMM Health & Safety Vision and Principles in 2002. It was updated in April 2012 and can be found

Becoming a Society member
AusIMM members with an interest in health and safety issues can join the Society by ticking the ‘Health and Safety Society’ in the Joining a Community section of the Members’ Area (
click here to log in to your
profile ). Members of the Society are eligible to vote in committee elections, and will receive the Society newsletter and occasional emails relevant to the group.

AusIMM Awards
The AusIMM presents a series of annual awards that recognise excellence and acknowledge significant contributions to the minerals industry and to the AusIMM. Members and other interested parties are encouraged to submit nominations for each year’s awards. Nominations for all awards close annually on
